Tournaments are scheduled to have 4th through 8th grade teams

Halftime Sports is committed to providing advanced basketball opportunities within the Recreation program during the winter months. As there are hoops needs for players who are more advanced than recreational basketball, thus we have created Halftime Select for those who want more basketball competition during the winter months.

The following age groups will participate in the program:

4th Grade Boys

5th Grade Boys

6th Grade Boys

7th Grade Boys

8th Grade Boys

Players participating in the above age groups will play an advanced level of basketball and will have their skill set pushed and challenged by professional coaches.

Players can participate in this particular program as well as the Winter Rec league. This is not recreational basketball where every kid plays an equal amount of time. Your child must earn his playing time!

Each team will play against other feeder teams, along with participation in winter AAU leagues, tournaments, and USBA Winter Championships which will challenge their skill set and provide them gameplay vs. players of their caliber.

Teams will be comprised of ten (10) players per team; include two (2) local practices per week; awesome uniforms; great coaching; advanced skill development, play 25+ games, and enjoy the hoops experience!

Season: October 2024 – February 2025

TRYOUTS

Dates: Friday,September 13th and 20th and Sunday, September 15th and 27th

Friday Tryout Times:

5:30 pm: 4th and 5th grades

6:30 pm: 6th and 7th grades

7:30 pm: 8th grade

Sunday Tryout Times:

12:00 pm: 4th and 5th grades

1:00 pm: 6th and 7th grades

2:00 pm: 8th grade

Players should bring their basketball, wear comfortable shorts, shirt, and shoes, and be ready to ball out and have fun! Check-in starts 30 minutes before the start of the evaluations. PLAYERS MUST ATTEND AT LEAST ONE {1} TRYOUT DATE. THE MORE HE ATTENDS THE BETTER OUR COACHES HAVE A CHANCE TO SEE HIS PERFORMANCE ON THE HARDWOOD.

The program includes practices, insurance, gym rentals, uniforms, officials for games, tournaments, and league fees.

Additional Information:

Player(s) must be registered and paid to begin practices with their respective team

Practices start the week of October 9th

Halftime SELECT Parents Conference Call (All parents) – October 10th @ 7:30 pm via conference call (Dial in will be sent upon Confirmation of acceptance)

Games begin on October 13th (tournaments, winter league play games, etc.)

Uniforms and SELECT gear will be ordered on Wednesday, September 27th.

SELECT Players will have a dedicated GEAR page where parents, family and friends can purchase personalized gear.

Playing Time is Not Guaranteed and must be earned! This is not recreation basketball, the level competition will be very challenging for our players, but they will improve throughout the season.

Team Parents are needed for each team, as it relates to communication, etc. with the team (check with your coach if interested)

We will have games Live Streamed and Statistics available via your cell phone, tablet, or computer. The Head Coach will need a mom or dad to handle this awesome “value add” to our games.

There are NO Refunds – it is very expensive to develop, implement and organize these programs.
